(: Today i went to the lovely little raw vegan cafe and bar, .RAW (Dot Raw) for a Japanese Yoga lesson and also a strawberry and peach soy smoothie (you can order any drink on the menu after the yoga lesson as the price is included!) The Cafe is located right in the center of the busy tourist and entertainment district, Roppongi. Keep reading to find out about my yoga experience! (: I found this yoga class on an app and website called 'Meet Up' aimed at connecting people with similar interests. Its basically a social media platform but specifically for events and meet-ups which is great because it brings people together and you can search directly for events that you're interested in. This time i just searched for 'yoga' and found several events both at yoga schools and outside in parks with an array of different styles and teachers. I decided to attend this class at .RAW cafe because it came with a yummy drink as well as was conducted in Japanese so i thought it might help my Japanese skills and would be a great experience for me. Being at 8:30am in the morning on Wednesday, the class was so empty and i actually ended up being the only student there- Hurrah for a private yoga lesson and yummy drink all for 3000 Yen! (: My teacher was a lovely Japanese lady who was very attentive and supportive and helped me with some asana's to improve the flexibility in my back and strength in my lower core (something I've been working on for a while). The class lasted for 1 hour and really energized me and forced me to brush off the cobwebs that has settled after month of me self-studying yoga in my tiny apartment with no space :')
Once we had finished meditating i was offered a drink or smoothie from the menu and decided i'd try a Kefir Soy drink and was allowed to choose what fruits to blend with it so i went for strawberry and peach. It was sour, sweet and full of protein so was perfect for a post-workout drink! .RAW also serves raw salads with all the delicious trimmings which is a great healthy and energizing treat for those who are looking for a more refreshing meal in the hot Japanese summer. I really enjoyed my Yoga class and my time at .RAW cafe and will definitely be visiting again both for yoga and to try some yummy vegan high protein salads! :) If you have any questions about .RAW or anything that I've mentioned today or veganism in Japan in general, please feel free to contact me at my contact page or comment below! Until next time xxx
