Just a stones throw from bustling Shinjuku is the little oasis of health, Parachutes. For those who want to quench their summer thirst with healthy and delicious juices and fill their belly's with veg-packed sandwiches, this place really is worth checking out! Keep reading to find out more.... Parachutes is a juice and sandwich bar located just inside the entrance of Shinjuku's O1O1 Department store. The bar sells cold pressed and organic juices, smoothies and sandwiches, of which one of the options is named 'Vegan sprout sandwich' which as you can see from the image, is filled with fresh crunchy vegetables sandwiches between real actual vegan wholewheat bread! :D I'm not sure if I'm just living under a rock or a parallel in which whole wheat bread doesn't exist but i have a very hard time finding good ol' WWB in Tokyo as it, let alone finding a vegan version. So naturally I was delightfully surprised when i found out that Parachutes vegan sandwich i had heard about was made with Wholewheat bread! (: Inside the yummy package is cress, carrots, red and yellow peppers, red cabbage, cucumber and a mustardy dressing which (coming from a mustard-loathing vegan) was actually quite delicious! The sandwich can be ordered in two sizes: half and whole. I ordered a half as i wasn't too hungry at the time and took it to Shinjuku Gyouen Park to eat with some other delicious vegan treats i had found earlier in the day (see previous blog page about Vege Stand, Shinjuku) If you have any questions, comments or suggestions please feel free to comment below or contact me through my contact page where you can find me on various forms of social media pretending i have a social life :')
